I had so much fun helping Christina plan her "city chic" wedding. We used an ivory and eggplant palette with touches of chocolate brown. The monochromatic ivory ceremony was so striking. Clean and gorgeous! For the reception, we played off of the warm eggplant tones creating a dramatic, urban feel. Christina was such a stunning bride... my little Anne Hathaway! A special thanks to Jennifer Hughes for the beautiful photos and to our amazing team of vendors. Congratulations to Christina + James!

guys who accessorize

We ladies aren't the only ones who can have fun with accessorizing. We're seeing lots of stylish grooms who aren't afraid to add a little excitement + personality to their wedding day attire. One of our recent grooms is a big Red Sox fan and as a nod to his beloved team, the groom and his entourage all wore red socks. Clever + playful- we love it!

Sometimes while off in the blog world, I come across a wedding so beautiful that I just have to share it on my own blog. This is one of those times! Style Me Pretty recently featured this "urban girly" wedding that I'm head over heels for. It feels clean, pretty, soft, lush (oh, those peonies!) and completely chic. I'm definitely inspired by this one!

Vanessa and Zach were married at the super charming Darlington House in Dupont. The intimate ceremony and reception were full of sweet, personal touches. I especially loved the bride's bouquet (one of the most beautiful I have seen!), peony filled milk glass vases and the vintage suitcase, which held cards for the bride and groom. A BIG thank you to Kate Headley for the lovely photos and to Sidra Forman for the gorgeous flowers. You ladies are amazing! Congratulations, V + Z! ~Jessica

I have a new obsession. Creating inspiration boards. I could literally spend the day dreaming up new and different (vintage charm to sleek and modern) weddings. Obsessed! Below is a "rustic chic" board that I created (with the help of my fab-o assistant, Cara) today. We're loving the muted blue/grey palette and the pancake bar. Yep- a pancake bar... with the fixins!

I was so excited to receive the newest issue of Washingtonian Bride & Groom yesterday! This magazine is always loaded with eye candy and fabulous real weddings so I couldn't wait to dig into it. I'm loving the Green Day spread which boasts beautiful inspiration for eco-friendly flowers. The bouquets are ah-mazing! Bride & Groom is a great resource for DC brides (and grooms!) and we couldn't be more flattered to be included in the guide of DC's top wedding vendors.
