We're so excited for our friends at Hitched! They've just announced that Hitched is hatching Hitched Maids; a fresh, fun, bridesmaid dress shop nestled above their bridal boutique in Georgetown. Opening this Tuesday, Hitched Maids will provide brides and their besties with a warm and inviting space to ogle over fabulous frocks from some of our favorite bridesmaid dress designers- Amsale, Anna Elyse, Jenny Yoo, Lela Rose, Simple Silhouettes and Thread. The styles range from classically sophisticated to modern and trendy. To celebrate their grand opening, Hitched Maids will be offering 10% off any bridesmaid dress purchased in the month of June! I have the best clients in the world! K + M are two of the sweetest and most fun loving people I've met. Such a complete joy to know them. K + M met in their high school Spanish class. High school sweethearts- I love that. I also love that they still have that giddy "new love" excitement for each other. It just melts my heart! We had the best time planning their wedding and the day couldn't have been more perfect... a total reflection of them as a couple. I can't get enough of Bill + Anne Holland and their always stunningly beautiful photos. They never cease to amaze me! Congrats K + M- I heart you two! xo

i heart peonies (and may!)

I love the month of May for so many reasons. The sunshine, my sweet hubby's birthday, my wedding anniversary (4 years on the 20th!), Mother's Day, farmers markets, sundresses, and peonies. Big, fluffy, beautiful peonies! My most favorite flower. There's something about these lush, delicate, romantic blooms that make me so happy. I can't wait for them to be sitting on my kitchen table... I'm counting the days!

Engaged! at the Four Seasons

The days are flying by and wedding season is upon us! Being a part of Engaged! Magazine's bridal event last month was the perfect way to kick off our season. We were thrilled to be at the Four Seasons with some of the best (we're talking creme de la creme!) wedding professionals in DC. I feel so lucky to work in a city with such ah-mazing talent! Our team showcased a wedding for all four seasons and I think it came together perfectly! I didn't get to visit the other hotels that participated in the event but from the photos it looks like everyone really outdid themselves.

Seeing Mindy and Eric's bee-u-tiful wedding on the District Weddings blog was a great start to my Monday! I completely adore this couple. Their wedding was one of my all time faves and seeing the photos makes my heart melt all over again. I'm so excited to work with Holland Photo Arts in less than two weeks!

princess for a night

It's time for a little spring cleaning! One of my brides told me about a great effort that the wonderful ladies of Hitched are making. The 5th Annual Hitched Dress Drive benefiting Princess for a Night begins today. Stop by Hitched to donate your gently worn bridesmaid dresses, which will go to students in the community. Your once worn bridesmaid dress could be someone's prom dress! My closet isn't quite as full as Katherine Heigl's in 27 Dresses (phew!) but I definitely have a few that I would love to pass along.

I'm so stinkin' excited about this post I can barely type. How can one be so giddy over handmade flowers?! I guess it's easy when they're this beautiful. I can't help but think of all the lovely ways to incorporate these pretties into a wedding- bouquets, gown or shoe accessory, bouts, hair piece, ring pillow or even to dress up the wrapping for bridesmaid gifts.
